B.Sc (Critical Care Technology)

ABOUT THE COURSE

Critical Care Medicine is an important speciality and it will be the fourth cause of death in 2020. B.Sc., Critical Care Technology is a 4 years course in which the students will be trained in the art and science of:

1) Cardiology were they can learn Electrocardiogram (ECG), Echocardiography, Computerized Tread Mill Test (TMT), Intra Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), and Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO)

2) Intensive Respiratory Care and they are exposed to Mechanical Ventilator, Non Invasive Ventilation, High Flow Oxygen Therapy and Pulmonary Function Test (PFT),

3) Renal Replacement Therapy (RRT), where they are exposed to Haemodialysis, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Therapeutic Plasma Exchange (TPE) and Hemoperfusion

4) They are exposed full-fledged Operation Theatre Technology

5) They will learn the state of art of Critical Care.

AFTER FINISHING THE COURSE:

1) They can work in a Cardiac unit (Cardiology)

2) They can work in a Critical Care Unit and

3) They can work in Accident and Emergency Care Unit

4) They can work in a Dialysis Unit

5) They can work in Operation Theatre and Anaesthesia department

6) They can also work in the Critical Care Ambulance

So it is an excellent speciality which has got a very high opportunity in the future

 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

            A pass in 10+2 or an equivalent with 12 years of Schooling from a recognized Board or University with minimum 35% marks in each subjects separately including English for all categories.

AGE LIMIT FOR ADMISSION:

            A candidate should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or would complete the said age on or before 31 st December of the year of admission to the B.Sc. Critical Care Technology
